NanGos have been walking, gardening, cycling, paddling, downward dogging, swimming and together have walked 305.7 kilometres. This represents 51 trips to collect water for the African grandmothers. Well done all! We started at the Gordon River Trailhead, hiked past Thrasher Cove, Camper Creek, Cullite, Walbran, Bonilla and overnighted at Carmanah. Apparently this first part of the trail has some very challenging rainforest hiking, ladders and a cable car across Camper creek. Glad I am not really hiking here but I have great admiration for those who do hike this trail!

Week 2: Wednesday 19/07/2023:Swylana Lagoon

Seven NanGo Grannie Striders walked last Wednesday at Swylana Lagoon. We had 6 walkers and 1 wheelchair stride together along Nanaimo's beautiful waterfront. So far, we have walked, cycled, wheeled and gardened the equivalent of 547 km. Our original plan was to "walk" the West Coast Trail of Vancouver Island but so far we have done the trail several times over. Of course, no suspension bridges or rope bluffs were involved!

One more week to go. Join us this coming Wednesday July 2610:00 as we stroll around Bowen Park. We will meet in the gravel parking lot across from the Curling Rink off Wall Street.

As always, we ask you to consider donating to help us support our Africa grandmothers. Click on this link to take you to the secure donation page or to register. There is still time!

Receipts for donations over $20 will be sent from the Stephen Lewis Foundation.
